LED LIGHTING

At MTEC Electrical we prioritise using the best products around and staying in front of the latest trends. LED lighting has recently taken over the market, mainly because it helps with energy consumption and the bulbs last much longer than halogen lamps. 

The starting point is identifying which lights are frequently used and replacing them first. This approach maximises savings as LEDs consume a staggering 90% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs. 

Concerned about wattage? As a general rule, for an equivalent of an ‘old-school’ 100-watt light bulb, opt for 10 watts; 60 watts equates to 6 watts, and 40 watts to 4 watts. There’s a rough 10% guideline for those mathematically inclined. For spotlights, swap a 50-watt GU 10 with a 4-watt LED bulb.
